Dr. Nabil Grace's specialization is structural engineering. He is the director of the Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR) at Lawrence Technological University, a multimillion dollar facility dedicated in 2008. This dynamic facility offers students a variety of applied research opportunities and, at this time, is primarily devoted to the investigation of the use of composite materials in concrete structural applications and for defense applications.
Dr. Grace's research interests include application of carbon fiber composites to structural engineering, assessment of dynamic behavior of composite automobile components, environmentally dependent behavior of composites, and infrastructure rehabilitation using composite materials. His research activities have attracted some $15 million in private, state, and federal grants, and have been implemented in the design and construction documents for the first CFRP prestressed highway bridge in the United States. Additional highway bridges using these unique solutions are in development.
Dr. Grace received his master's and PhD in civil engineering from the University of Windsor, Ontario, and his bachelor's degree from Cairo University.
Dr. Grace joined Lawrence Tech's Department of Civil Engineering in 1988 and was named chair in 2002. In recognition of his outstanding teaching, research, and accomplishments in his field, he was named Lawrence Tech's first university distinguished professor in 2008.

Dr. Arslan joined LTU in August 2010 from Columbia University, New York, NY where she received her Ph.D. During her Ph.D. studies she also worked at Universite de Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada as a Research Associate. She got promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in July 2017. Her current research interests include but not limited to Power and Thermal Management of HEVs, MEMS, microfluidics, PowerMEMS and Thermal Sciences and energy systems. Dr. Arslan is an active member of ASME, SAE and SWE. She served as the faculty advisor for the LTU Collegiate Chapter of ASME and received the Outstanding Section Advisor Award in 2015. She is also the recipient of the Mary E. and Richard E. Marburger Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2014.
Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research
Dr. Jensen received her PhD from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Her specialization is Material and Structural Engineering. Research interests include construction and highway materials with special emphasis on Portland Cement Concrete, highway analysis and design, and distress development of concrete pavements as affected by environmental and mechanical lading. Her research work is based on experimental and finite element methods. Dr. Jensen is an active member of the ACI Committee on Fatigue of Concrete, ISCP (International Society for Concrete Pavements), ASCE, and SWE More....
Richard E. Marburger is president emeritus, professor emeritus and senior advisor for both the College of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences at Lawrence Technological University. Dr. Marburger served as president of the 5000-student independent university for 16 years, 1977-93. From 1981 to 1993, he also served as chairman and chief executive officer of Lawrence Tech. He joined Lawrence Tech's adjunct faculty in 1965 and rapidly advanced through a number of key administrative positions. He returned to full-time teaching at LTU in 1993. His scientific career spans 50 years; at the General Motors Research Laboratories, the Air Force, and at Lawrence Tech. Currently, Dr. Marburger serves as a volunteer student advisor for two of the University's four colleges and freely shares his wisdom with students and faculty alike. He also provides assistance to the Department of Institutional Advancement in fund raising.
