Dissertation: African American Women Playwrights and the Empowerment of Black Women.
Sharon’s work examines how plays written by African American women represent the trials and tribulation of African American women which may be interpret as motivating to triumph over impediments of gender and racial oppression. She is interested in how Black women dramatists incorporate the struggle for civil rights and gender equality into literary activism, and how their plays not only give power to African American women but lay the foundations for enduring social and political change.
Currently, Wallace is revising two books for children.
