Stephanie Hall-Sturgis

Stephanie Hall-Sturgis received her B.S in Public Relations/Journalism from Eastern Michigan University in 1990, received her M.A. in Written Communications from EMU in 1997, and earned her doctorate in Composition and Rhetoric from Wayne State University in 2006. Dr. Sturgis joined LTU in 2006 as a post-doctoral fellow and ran the Arts and Sciences Undeclared, Scholars, and ESL Programs. She has continued to teach as adjunct faculty since then, and also teaches Academic Literacy courses at Oakland Community College. Her research interests include community-based pedagogy and connecting critical pedagogy to the basic writing classroom.
