Affer received her Bachelor of Arts in English from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, she worked in customer service before joining the staff of the President’s Office at LTU in July 1998. In January 2000, Affer began working as the Housing Coordinator in the Office of University Housing. She applied for the position in University Housing so she could work more closely with students and help develop the Community Leader program at LTU, which had begun the previous semester. Affer worked in University Housing for 5½ years, during which time she enjoyed seeing the positive changes in the Residence Life Program and developed close relationships with my residents and student staff.
In August 2006, Affer began working in her current position. The Office of Career Services and International Programs is starting a new era of development and growth, just as University Housing did when she first started in that department. Affer looks forward to helping develop a program that is an integral part of our campus community.
