LTU alum seeks to 'change the face of architecture,' wins new university award

Despite being 7 percent of the nation’s population, black women make up less than 0.4 percent of the nation’s licensed architects – just 400 out of 111,000. That’s why Lawrence Technological University graduate and architect Tiffany D. Brown created a program to bring more information about architecture to black girls. And that’s a big reason why Brown was honored Sunday with LTU’s inaugural John G. Petty Community Champion Award.

LTU football legend Harry Kazanjian passes away at 90

Harry “The Horse” Kazanjian, the honorary captain for Lawrence Technological University’s return to football competition in 2018, died Sunday, Feb. 3, at the age of 90. Kazanjian was the leading rusher for the football team of what was then the Lawrence Institute of Technology in the fall of 1946, its last season of football competition until 2018.

Brown to receive inaugural Petty Community Champion Award Sunday at LTU

Tiffany D. Brown, a prominent young architect and alumna of Lawrence Technological University, will receive the inaugural John Gordon Petty Community Champion Award in a ceremony at Lawrence Tech Sunday, Feb. 10. The award ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the University Technology and Learning Center Gallery. LTU’s campus is located at 21000 W. 10 Mile Road in Southfield (see www.ltu.edu/map).
