Lawrence Technological University has partnered with Detroit’s Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church to launch what’s believed to be the first business pitch competition of its kind – one targeting youth at faith-based organizations.
Joseph Champagne, PhD, a member of the Lawrence Technological University Board of Trustees since 2001, died Tuesday, Dec. 11 at age 80. He was a member of the academic affairs and executive committees.
Students can register now for spring semester classes that begin Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Lawrence Technological University (LTU). Day, evening, weekend and online options are available, including many fast-track certificate programs in growing career fields.
Lawrence Technological University will host the 2018 DECA High School District Competition on Friday, Dec. 14. The university will host more than 800 students from 21 Oakland County high schools in competitive presentations and educational exercises in marketing, business, finance, leadership, and entrepreneurship competency areas.
Lawrence Technological University’s Detroit Center for Design + Technology (DCDT) will bring back its Holiday Pop-Up Shop featuring local, sustainable businesses for Detroit’s Noel Night 2018 on Saturday, Dec. 1. The shops will be open from 5 to 10 p.m., offering vintage clothing, home goods, men’s care products, locally crafted chocolates, and more from local designers and makers. The event is free and open to the public. The DCDT Woodward Gallery is at 4219 Woodward Ave. at Willis Street in Detroit.
