What is MIRideShare?
Michigan Rideshare is a free and easy way for commuters living, learning, and working in southeast Michigan to find carpool, vanpool, and bike partners quickly and securely. MiRideShare is a public use program through the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, participation is at your own discretion.

1. How much do these services cost?
They're all FREE!
2. Who rideshares?
Students, volunteers, employees any commuter over age 18 with a regular schedule whose work/school location falls within Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. If you commute to a location outside of these counties, contact the local RideShare office for that area.
3. What is MiBikematch?
MiBikematch is an online matching service that can help you find fellow bike commuters.
Here ishow it works: Log onto MiRideShare.org, as a new user or existing userselect MiBikematch (or Carpool and MiBikematch if you want to find carpool partners, too). Enter your starting point and destination as well as your other preferences.
Bike matches will appear on your match list with a special icon to indicate other commuters in the MiBikematch program. Contact potential bicycling partners directly by email through the MiBikematch site.
4. What are the benefits to biking to work?
Bicycle Commuting Advantages: Its great exercise, saves money on fuel and parking, reduces air pollution, and reduces traffic congestion.
5. What is the difference between carpooling and vanpooling?
Carpools are groups of two or more people who commute together using a vehicle provided by a person from the group. Vanpools are groups of five to fifteen people who commute together using a vehicle provided by the Michigan Department of Transportation. Vanpools tend to be more formalized than carpool arrangements (a minimum number of commutes per week may be required), but the costs of commuting can be significantly reduced due to the number of people sharing the ride.
